Do you have spring fever? If you’re ready to hit the road for your first trip of the year, the Cherry Blossom Festival in our nation’s capital will not disappoint. We will share some of the events surrounding this beautiful display reminiscent of a Japanese garden.
Those who have been lucky enough to witness the Yoshino cherry trees in full bloom in Washington, D.C. and neighboring Virginia and Maryland will tell you it is an experience of a lifetime. Even when the trees are just over their peak blooming point, the area is filled with flurries of light pink petals.
In 1912, Japan gifted Washington, D.C. 12 different types of cherry trees. In present day, there are over 3,000 cherry trees. When these trees are in full bloom, the city is a spring display not many places in this world can compete with. So, if you are craving a little spring, and you’re tired of gray skies and blankets of snow, you may be interested in taking your motorhome to one of these D.C. area RV parks:
Cherry Blossom events take place over a 3-week period. Here are some of the events happening during those three weeks.
