A “Sprinter” is a small Class C RV that is built on a Mercedes-Benz® chassis. Often these small RVs don’t have an overhead bunk, however, that is not always the case. Sprinters often offer many of the amenities of the Class A are more powerful than Class B motorhomes. At Thor Motor Coach, Class C Sprinter motorhomes range in size, but are normally shorter than 30 feet.

Mercedes Benz Sprinter RV FAQs
A van and cab chassis is virtually the same, with the exception the cab chassis only provides the driver’s area from Sprinter so the RV can be added on the frame behind the cockpit. A van is a complete structure from the front to the rear.
Pricing is determined by the overall package, not just the chassis. Multiple lines of products built by Thor Motor Coach incorporate the Sprinter chassis. The least expensive models with the cab chassis come from the Four Winds and Chateau lines, while the most luxurious and expensive lines come in the Delano and Tiburon lines.
Fuel efficiency is all a factor of weight and driving habits. Many of the owners we talk with comment on fuel economy numbers between 12-14 miles per gallon. Individual experience will increase and decrease from this range.
The tallest Sprinter model in the Thor Motor Coach line-up is 12’1”, with the shortest being 11’7”.
There is no longer a Dodge version of the Sprinter. In 2010, a redesigned Sprinter platform came to North America under the Mercedes-Benz badging only.
A traditional residential garage door has a 7-9’ tall opening. The models built at Thor Motor Coach on the Sprinter Cab chassis are all over 11’ tall, making it unlikely to fit in a standard garage.
