National Parks with RV Hookups

June 20, 2019

The American National Park System supports 58 parks all over the country. From Alaska to Hawaii and the lower 48, almost 85 million acres of virtually untouched land has been preserved for the public to enjoy.

Finding a spot to RV camp within a national park can be difficult especially if you do not want to dry camp. There are many smaller campgrounds within national parks and just outside of them that do offer some RV hookup sites. The larger parks like Denali, Death Valley and Yellowstone have hookup sites but they are limited so make sure to reserve in advance. The dramatic landscape and clean air are what makes our national parks stand out. Here’s what makes the A.C.E.® stand out:

A.C.E. Class A Gas RVs

  • Easy to clean residential vinyl flooring and leatherette furniture
  • Pet-friendly features such as the Kibble Station™ & Pet-Link

Coastlines, mountains, canyons and grasslands - pick any landscape you want to experience and you can find a national park to match. Hot Springs National Park AKA the American Spa is said to contain thermal waters to heal and relax aching muscles. Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore contains 15,000 acres of sandy land on the Lake Michigan coast. Both of these parks have abundant supplies of recreational water to enjoy and they also have RV hookups. The Palazzo® Class A diesel pusher has many features to help you relax even further after a day of fun.

Palazzo Class A Diesel

  • Tilt-A-View® inclining bed in select models
  • Oversized shower with glass door
  • Outside shower for rinsing sandy feet

The cost to enter a national park varies with the length of time you intend to stay such as, overnight camping or just visiting for the day. Children 15 and under and active members of the military are free and seniors and annual passes are discounted from the normal rate. Volunteers with more than 250 service hours to federal agencies are also eligible for free passes. Persons with disabilities can also apply for a free access pass.

Although there are no full hookup sites hosted by Grand Canyon National Park, there is a private campground open year-round with full hookups located on the south rim in Grand Canyon Village. Grand Teton National Park has two campgrounds with RV hookup sites and although they have more than 100 campsites, they fill up fast so advanced reservations are suggested. Speaking of grand, RUVs are a Thor Motor Coach exclusive type of motorhome that is easy to drive yet spacious and able to handle those winding park roads.

Compass® RUV™

  • Ford® transit or Mercedes-Benz Sprinter diesel chassis
  • Electric stabilizing system on most models
  • Rapid Camp+ multiplex wiring control system
